| Requirements: |
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in 1 or more of the following work classifications under the supervision of a licensed contractor:

- Hydronic heating and cooling and process piping
- HVAC equipment
- Ductwork
- Refrigeration
- Limited heating service
- Unlimited heating service
- Limited refrigeration and air conditioning service
- Unlimited refrigeration and air conditioning service
- Specialty License
- Solar
- Solid fuel
- LP tank and pipe
- Underground tank and pipe
- Gas piping
- Gas piping and venting
(Up to one year of credit may be provided for graduation from or attendance at a recognized trade school)

A HVAC/Refrigeration license enables a contractor to perform all aspects of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, ductwork, ventilation, as well as gas piping to any heating apparatus or to appliances.

| Exam: |
- The examination fee is $25.
- The examination will consist of a written test for each work classification and a law test. The examination will cover the general theories and practices of specific work classifications, knowledge of the mechanical code and applicable laws. All questions are multiple-choice.
- You must pass a 15 question test on the MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR’S LAW AND RULES,
THE CONSTRUCTION CODE LAW AND RULES, AND BASIC SAFETY RULES.
- You must pass a test for EACH work classification in which you choose to be licensed.
- You must receive a score of at least 70% on EACH test taken in order to receive a passing grade.
